Job Responsibilities
The Issues Management associate manager will help develop systems, processes, assets, and tools that will be used by the team for the purpose of risk mitigation of brand reputation issues. The candidate will also support the planning, governance, and management of select projects and responsibilities handled by the Issues Management team.
As part of the Issues Management team, this role will report to the Managing Director Issues Management Lead, a function within Corporate Communications Strategy and Insights. This role will work cross‑functionally in a highly matrixed environment with diverse marketing and communications teams focused on global brand management and advertising; global events and sponsorships; people engagement; marketing research; media and industry analyst relations; corporate and financial communications; digital marketing; recruitment marketing; portfolio/client‑centric marketing; and industry, service line and geographic marketing campaigns.
The role will work closely with members of the Issues Management team, government relations, PE, GAP, HR, Legal, and occasionally with business/client teams. The candidate will also work closely and in a well‑coordinated fashion with other Corporate Communications teams to evaluate best practices, tools and processes that may be applicable for the betterment of the Issues Management function.
The candidate will also help determine communications approaches powered by consistent, disciplined messaging for key channels and support other Issues leads for developing and updating corporate communications messaging for key topics of major interest to the company.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, highly motivated, experienced communications professional with proven experience relating to digital and mainstream media. The candidate will be familiar with the design and development of strategies and products for monitoring, reporting, and escalating media and social media coverage in an industrialized setting. They will be detail‑oriented, a proactive team player, and a leader who possesses exemplary judgment, impeccable writing skills and an ability to turn abstract and complicated issues into simple and powerful narratives.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of marketing and communication experience
Bachelor's degree
Broad-based business acumen and ability to quickly grasp Accenture’s business strategy, global perspective, and understanding of the business marketplace; quick thinking with an inquisitive nature and desire to learn about economic and business drives, the technology ecosystem, and all aspects of Accenture’s business.
Proven, impeccable judgment, particularly in high‑intensity situations
Able to support and influence leaders at all levels of the organization through relationship building and executive‑level presence
Take point in orchestrating multiple projects and responsibilities, all with varied deadlines
Contribute strategic guidance into the team’s deliberations, and help create and edit various work products, including scenario plans, preparation of holding statements, talking points for internal and external stakeholders, and coordinate closely with peers in Accenture business lines, legal, HR, media relations and other corporate function departments
