
Mortgage Loan Processor II

The Mortgage Loan Processor II processes mortgage loans from application to closing. This position complies with all legal and regulatory guidelines related to the mortgage loan industry. The Mortgage Loan Processor II improves customer service by processing all loans in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Answer incoming phone calls and answer customer questions regarding mortgage loans in general or specific to a borrower's loan in process. (25% of the time)
Process FHA, VA, Conventional, Bond and RD loans after application including processing various types of verifications, pulling credit reports, ordering appraisals, pulling title work, running loans through an automated system, pulling flood certificates, getting loan files ready and submitting them to underwriting, following up with underwriting and clearing all underwriting conditions. (40% of the time)
Correspond with customers, real estate agents, appraisers, and title companies as needed to obtain information necessary to getting the mortgage loan ready to close. (5% of the time)
Prepare month end reports to various banks and regulatory agencies. (As needed)
Work directly with the Mortgage Loan Officer to ensure the utmost in customer service. (10% of the time)
Refer customers to other bank personnel as needed. (5% of the time)
Perform research on Bankway, Fortis, Image Center and Dimension. (5% of the time)
Perform daily duties on all bank systems and Mortgage operating systems such as DO, DU, LP, Encompass and Doc magic. (5% of the time)
Identify cross‑selling opportunities. (5% of the time)
Review fields for completeness, qualification and compliance. (Daily)
Communicate deficiencies to the loan officer and customer. (Daily)
Advise loan officer of any changes needed in the file to obtain loan approval. (Daily)
Communicate with realtor and customer of status as they change. (Daily)
Communicate with Underwriter once file is submitted for approval process. (Daily)
Clear underwriting conditions. (Daily)
Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. (Annually)
The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Education and Experience Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 3 years related experience and/or training, and 12 to 18 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Communication Skills Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Critical Thinking Skills Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.
