GENERAL SUMMARY: This position is responsible for completing a variety of tasks that supports the Director or Mortgage Loan Consultant in his/her efforts to meet all regulatory, compliance, record keeping and transaction processing requirements.
NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION: The position works with a minimal amount of supervision and direction and is authorized to take reasonable actions necessary to carry out the assigned responsibilities of the position, provided that such action is consistent with cost-effective practices and is consistent with the policy and procedures of Kinecta Federal Credit Union.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: There are no direct supervisory responsibilities but will be expected to take the lead on assigned projects and may oversee the work of others working on assigned projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Actively manage incoming and outgoing telephone calls for Consultants, establishing appointments and servicing members.
Analyze and reconcile commission reports for the Mortgage Loan Sales Department
Assist in audit preparation
Inputs and maintains a member database to effectively target members for marketing and follow-up.
Assist with problem resolution
Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of all broker files and reports. Completes production reports as required
Produces weekly pipeline reports
Performs special projects as required
Leverage available software including Microsoft Outlook, for contact management.
Maintain appointment calendar for Director or Mortgage Loan Consultant.
Assist with implementation and development of real estate seminars and coordination of same.
Update or correct data from new loan application with supporting documents, prepare files for order out and processing review
Upload/Scan new application with supporting documents, prepare files for order out and processing review.
Track all outstanding items on files and follow up with customers to ensure timely receipt of necessary documentation.
Participate in weekly file reviews with processors.
Facilitate the closing of loans in a timely manner.
Assist loan officers with the preparation and distribution of marketing materials.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform other duties including special projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of mortgage loan industry rules
Familiar with mortgage documents and process es
Detail oriented
Organized and detail oriented
Available to work overtime as needed
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
Ability to learn and apply real estate compliance policies and procedures
Analyze and solve problems
Ability to interact with staff, members and others encountered in the course of work
Ability to learn and apply new information or skills
Ability to observe and interpret people and situations
Ability to perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks
Ability to read and interpret financial and statistical data, information and documents
Ability to work under intensive deadlines
Education, Training and Experience:
Potential candidates for this position must meet the following requirements:
High School Diploma, or equivalent
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
A minimum of two years’ experience as a loan officer, processor, loan officer assistant, or similar position preferred.
Basic understanding of Jumbo, FHA, VA and Conventional single-family underwriting guidelines and the residential mortgage loan process preferred.
Demonstrated experience with accurate data entry, strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficient with MS Office including Word and Excel.
Some exposure to marketing and/or preparation of advertising materials.
Excellent communication skills - phone, personal contact and written.
Strong ability and desire to work with others, both employees and customers, in a cooperative and professional manner. Work cooperatively with and maintain effective communication and working relationship with customers, co-workers, and manager.
Must possess good judgment, be able to accept responsibility and handle confidential information.
This position will require / requires National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration under the terms of the Safe Act of 2008. As such, upon active employment, you will be required to either register via the NMLS Registry or re-register and move your previous registration to Kinecta Federal Credit Union's registration. Your continued employment in this position is contingent upon successful registration after your start date and annual re-registration thereafter.
One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
The job may require flexibility with regards to scheduling days, hours, and work location, depending on business needs.
The job is typically sedentary but may require standing and walking up to 35% of the work time to transfer files, ask questions, and related activities.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES, MENTAL DEMANDS, AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be able to exercise sound judgment, effectively plan and be well organized, have excellent oral and written communications skills, work well under changing timelines, take the initiative and be flexible and cooperative. Accuracy, timeliness and maintaining confidentiality related to member, employee information and company records is required.
While performing the job duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit; talk or hear in person and by telephone; use hands to operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; lift minimum 10 lbs.
The employee is frequently required to walk and stand. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus to read and operate office equipment, as necessary. The employee works under typical office conditions and noise levels.
