Overview Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines. The Community Outreach Specialist will maintain a regular and visible presence along Parsons Avenue and conduct street outreach with individuals experiencing poverty and homelessness, provide support and connect them to needed resources, engage with local nonprofits and businesses, and conduct regular litter pick‑up and general clean‑up of the Parsons Avenue corridor.

Job Description Summary Coordinates outreach efforts, engages with community stakeholders, develops partnerships, and implements strategies to increase visibility and impact. Develops and implements collaborative programs and services by working with community‑based organizations and hospital staff.

Essential Functions

Develop outreach strategies to engage with target audiences.

Collaborate with team members to create outreach materials.

Conduct outreach activities to promote programs or services.

Support target population in connecting to available programs or services.

Analyze outreach data to measure effectiveness of campaigns.

Build relationships with community partners to expand outreach efforts.

Represent the organization at events to increase visibility and awareness.

Education Requirement Bachelor’s Degree in a health or social services related field, or equivalent experience, preferred.

Licensure Requirement Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy and position‑specific requirements. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Skills

Proficiency with written summaries and documentation.

Working knowledge of child health care and community issues.

Proficiency with personal computers, databases, and word processing software.

Effective customer service, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills for interaction with contacts.

Ability to work collaboratively with people of diverse backgrounds.

Experience

Minimum of two years of experience in a community‑based setting in areas such as health care, social service, or community service.

Experience in collaborative program development is preferred.
