
Construction Superintendent

Construction Superintendent (Intermediate-Expert Level)
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Superintendent to promote and enforce safety policies and ethical standards. The ideal candidate will lead field teams with urgency, accountability, and clarity, ensuring that daily construction activities meet design requirements, schedule expectations, and budget targets.
Responsibilities
Supervise daily construction activities to ensure alignment with design requirements, schedule expectations, and budget targets.
Coordinate with clients, Project Managers, supervisors, and other contractors for smooth project execution.
Direct craft workers and subcontractors as required by project needs.
Develop and maintain work schedules, identify critical path activities, and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Assign labor and subcontractors to maximize productivity and resource efficiency.
Oversee on-site operations including scheduling, material control, personnel management, technical guidance, and quality control.
Approve personnel actions, purchase requests, and field design changes.
Provide technical support and assist project management with procedures, standards, and project documentation.
Maintain accurate records such as timesheets, work orders, billing descriptions, and project reports.
Enforce project procedures, safety programs, and work rules; document violations and implement corrective actions.
Participate in hiring, training, and performance management of craft employees.
Support company initiatives and perform additional duties as needed.
Essential Skills
10+ years of construction site leadership experience on underground or utility projects valued at $4M–$8M, including complex piping and heavy rigging.
Strong knowledge of pump and machine repair, basic electrical systems, craft labor rules, engineering principles, cost control, scheduling, and safety practices.
Understanding of contract documents, drawings, specifications, construction methods, materials, line and grade, and survey techniques.
Familiarity with construction cost control and basic accounting processes.
Proficiency with MS Office and construction software such as Primavera and Procore.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
OSHA certification required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or related experience accepted.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn, MA.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $67.30/hr.
