Associate Director, IT Program Manager

Responsibilities and Impact:

Lead cross‑functional team and conduct end‑to‑end project management for IT and business initiatives, including software implementations, infrastructure upgrades, and system integrations across multiple business units.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—business owners, developers, business analysts, and stakeholders—to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables while ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships while maintaining adherence to project management methodologies and governance frameworks, including Agile and SAFE.

Drive risk assessment and mitigation strategies, proactively identifying potential roadblocks and implementing contingency plans to ensure successful project delivery.

Facilitate stakeholder communication through regular meetings, status reporting, executive briefings, and change management activities to ensure transparency and buy‑in.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team, mentor junior project team members, and contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and best practices across the organization.

Support compliance, governance, and regulatory alignment within Agile delivery workflows.

Analyze current workflows and processes, recommend and implement improvements, and drive adoption of best practices in project and program management.

Compensation/Benefits Information:

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $125,000 to $160,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.

Basic Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

8+ years of experience in program or project management, preferably in a technical environment.

Demonstrated experience managing cross‑functional or cross‑organizational programs/projects.

Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), and/or SAFE frameworks.

Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern enterprise IT infrastructure.

Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., ADO, Confluence, MS Office, SharePoint).

Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.

Experience with risk management, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Demonstrated leadership in driving teams toward successful project outcomes.

Ability to influence and negotiate across teams and leadership levels.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

PMP (Project Management Professional) certified

Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent agile certification

Experience with Agile and SAFE frameworks, worked on projects using agile methods

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments and requirements.

Experience in a global, matrixed organization.
