
Director/Executive Director, Equity Sales

**What You’ll Be Doing:**The individual in this role is responsible for generating business for CIBC’s Equities business collaborating with the Equity Sales, Equity Trading, Equity Derivatives, Prime Services and Equity Research teams while also working collaboratively with other trading floor businesses, Equity Capital Markets and Investment Banking.
Any applicant should have 5+ years of relevant experience, existing investor relationships, and a track record of generating IP and success serving mutual / hedge funds in the US.
The successful candidate will serve as one of CIBC’s thought leaders and relationship builders across all sectors.**How You’ll Succeed:*** Driving commission growth by generating and selling CIBC research and original trade ideas to deliver on P&L targets.
Providing investors in the US with CIBC research alongside deal-related insight while also gathering market intelligence and sharing it internally.* Marketing corporate C-suite executives and CIBC analysts to investors.
Using those opportunities to initiate, maintain and deepen senior, strategic corporate relationships in concert with Equity Research, IB, ECM and other teams.* Gather, interpret and share intelligence/feedback from corporate, industry, and investment sources with Research, Equities Sales/Trading and Equity Derivatives partners and contribute to our Research franchise and IP, as well as the morning call and through a daily morning note.* Strategizing and collaborating with other US sales and trading professionals to deliver on regional targets.* Proactively cross-selling Global Markets and Capital Markets products and support the goals of other business groups.**Who You Are:*** Strong relationship building skills* Strong analytical and organizational skills, ability to multi-task.* Exhibit creativity and independent thought in developing / refining investment ideas* A relevant university degree in addition Series 7 and 63* 5+ years of sales experience* **Values matter to you.** You bring your real self to work and you live our values – trust, teamwork, and accountability.At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $225,000 - $275,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
