Canada Leader, Specialist Solution Architects

The Canada Specialist Leader leads a team of deep domain specialist solutions architects across AWS Products and Services. This team works in partnership with the local sales organization to accelerate the adoption of AWS cloud across services, solutions, workloads and AWS offerings. This is a critical role reporting directly to the Solution Architect Country leader, developing and implementing the plan for the national prioritization of specialist resource investments and customer adoption plans for current and future services.

This team provides field leadership with deep domain expertise that ranges across GenAI, High Performance Computing, Compute, Networking, Storage, Database, and Analytics. It also includes cross-service C-level technical conversations and motions related to Application Modernization, Business Transformation through technology, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning adoption.

AWS is looking for an accomplished technical leader with experience across product, architecture, and technology who has worked with large Enterprises and high-growth organizations. In this capacity, the leader will guide a cross-functional team of specialist solutions architects who provide deep technical expertise to customers. The Specialist team that this person will lead also acts as an important feedback ingestion point from all customers in Canada that directly feeds into the roadmap for product and services teams at AWS.

While leading a team of technical and product experts, you will facilitate domain-based technical discussions with C-suite executives. You play a critical role in capturing the voice of the customer and sharing it back to the Worldwide Specialist Organization team to ensure customer feedback is amplified to effectively influence our technology roadmaps and Go-To-Market strategy. This role will contribute to the overall performance of the business globally measured by customer adoption, technical influence, and product and service feedback.

Key Job Responsibilities

Build and lead a high‑performing team of specialist Solutions Architects, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and customer obsession.

Develop and nurture strategic relationships with customers' technical leaders, driving executive‑level conversations that align AWS solutions with customers' business and technical objectives.

Act as a technical thought leader, representing AWS in executive‑level discussions, public speaking engagements, and writing content that showcases how AWS delivers value to customers.

Pioneer the adoption of emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to integrate Generative AI, Analytics, and automation into customer solutions, and invent on their behalf.

Guide the development of whitepapers, presentations, and other high‑value customer‑facing content to share best practices.

Develop and execute strategies to drive long‑term adoption and growth with Data and Developer tools, Advanced Compute, Core Services, Migration/Modernization, or Business Applications specialty.

Partner with cross‑functional teams across Solution Architecture, Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Partners, and Training to execute customer acquisition programs and strategies.

Basic Qualifications

8+ years of managing a technical team of solution architects, sales engineers or similar technical roles.

Bachelor's degree.

Experience architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider such as Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc.

Experience in direct customer engagement, with a focus on support to senior executives (Vice President and C‑level).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud.

AWS Professional level certification, or degree in advanced technology.

Deep expertise in two or more of the following: Analytics, Databases, Storage, AI/ML, Compute, etc.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
