This position prefers the intern to travel via car. The Student Health Center (SHC) program operates clinics in nine high schools across Multnomah County and provides preventive, primary, behavioral and mental health care. The internship will support communications and marketing for the SHC program to increase information sharing and utilization of health resources among families and school districts. Intern Responsibilities

Create and distribute content and graphics for flyers, infographics, social media and the website Assist with and facilitate middle and elementary school outreach and engagement to increase utilization of services Attend meetings with the SCE team, understand deliverables, and contribute to implementation Assist with ordering and distributing swag for clinics and teams at community events Perform other administrative tasks and help organize and maintain supplies and equipment Learning Opportunities

The intern will engage in school-based public health communications and marketing, receive training, network with employees from the health department, schools, and community-based organizations, and apply concepts from coursework. Qualifications

Enrolled or plan to enroll in a graduate or undergraduate degree program in a relevant field (e.g., public health and/or health communications) Strong external and internal written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team Ability to take initiative and proactively suggest ideas to advance work Interest in and ability to learn graphic design Ability to commit to 32-40 hours per week Preference for candidates with professional and/or lived experience with diverse, marginalized communities Finalists must pass a background check Access to a personal vehicle is preferred Equal Opportunity and Compliance
