Strategy Director – Hotels.com Hotels.com is one of Expedia Group’s three flagship consumer brands, focused on delivering the most convenient, rewarding, and memorable ways for people to travel and explore the world alongside Expedia and Vrbo.

We are looking for a

Strategy Director

to define and operationalize the brand’s go-forward strategy for Business Travel. You will play a critical role in delivering Hotels.com’s growth ambitions, which is one of the largest brands in the Expedia portfolio with a fiercely loyal customer base. You will report to the Hotels.com Head of Strategy & Planning.

In This Role, You Will

Own Strategy Development: play a key role in defining and operationalizing key short, medium, and long-term Business Travel strategic initiatives to improve consumer performance and competitive positioning.

Evaluate strategic Business Travel opportunities and develop perspective on their implications and actions for the traveler:

Monitor the Business Travel ecosystem to identify market trends.

Identify business/value driver opportunities and risks.

Frame strategic options, evaluate tradeoffs, and develop clear, data‑backed business cases to drive executive decision‑making.

Communicate findings to senior stakeholders and build buy‑in.

Own end-to-end process from inception through market activation of prioritized Business Travel strategic initiatives:

Work with cross‑functional stakeholders such as Product & Tech, Marketing, Supply, Pricing, Finance, Analytics.

Operate with autonomy – independently frame problems, drive alignment, and move work forward with limited oversight, while keeping leadership appropriately involved.

Financial Planning: partner with finance on annual financial planning processes.

Performance Metrics: regularly evaluate performance against targets and established financial KPIs.

Data‑Driven Decision Making: leverage analytics to drive informed business decisions.

Global Alignment: foster consistency and alignment across diverse markets.

Experience and Qualifications

10+ years of experience in Business Travel and business strategy, including establishing cross‑functional plans, developing business cases, identifying key market trends, opportunities, and risks, and thinking long‑term.

Experience launching new business or products (e.g., entrepreneur, start‑up, Managed new business launch). Demonstrate ability to turn strategy into results and drive growth, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and own the process from inception through market activation.

Top‑tier management consulting or technology company experience preferred.

Ability to work autonomously and drive alignment in a fast‑paced environment.

Compensation New York: $224,000.00 to $313,500.00 (potential to increase to $358,500.00 based on performance). Seattle: $207,500.00 to $290,500.00 (potential to increase to $332,000.00 based on performance).
