Job Overview Delta Dental of Iowa is seeking a Professional Relations Consultant to build meaningful relationships with dental practices. The role involves portfolio management, strategy development, training, and expanding network access across the state.

Responsibilities

Actively manage a portfolio of dental practices.

Use a consultative approach to engage in business discussions with dentists, discovering challenges and opportunities to support practice success.

Assess provider concerns and work with teams to develop solutions beneficial to Delta Dental, providers, and members.

Collaborate with product and operations teams to introduce additional solutions enhancing provider success.

Support practice office managers to resolve operational challenges and improve workflow.

Research, resolve, and communicate progress on escalated provider issues.

Recruit and maintain dentists in Delta Dental commercial and government networks to increase access to dental benefits for members.

Influence and educate stakeholders to optimize professional relations and industry knowledge.

Coordinate onboarding of new dentists and staff, setting expectations and ensuring policy understanding.

Conduct ongoing training to dentists and staff to reduce calls, promote services, and increase compliance.

Develop and maintain client profiles in CRM, recording demographics, preferences, and relationship strengths.

Leverage data to develop meeting and call plans that drive business value.

Monitor competitive activity and trends in Iowa dental networks and report to leadership.

Support credentialing processes for compliance.

Participate in professional organizations, represent Delta Dental at meetings and events.

Contribute to Delta Dental’s “Leadership at All Levels” and “One Team” culture.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of provider network or account management experience.

Excellent presentation, training, and communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build and maintain professional relationships and influence stakeholders.

Ability to work independently and organize tasks to meet objectives.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.

Outstanding drive, determination, and desire to be part of a growing, achievement-oriented team.

Entrepreneurial and business owner mindset, curious and puzzle solver.

Flexible hours and travel within the state (up to 60% travel, overnight travel required).

Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle.

Preferred

3-5 years dental office experience.

Knowledge of dental insurance, dental procedures, codes, benefit products, healthcare reform, and claim reporting/admin.
