Business Technology Solutions Consultant - Research & Development (R&D) Solution Area Responsibilities
Plan, initiate, and manage medium- and large-scale IT projects and provide guidance to technical junior team members (e.g., Business Analysts, Associates, Associate Consultants, Solution Architects, Project Leads). Coordinate with Project Leadership to define IT project scope and strategies, select appropriate IT tools and ZS software, and develop IT strategies using project management tools. Lead multiple IT projects to ensure high-quality deliverables are produced on time and within budget, applying analytical rigor across front-end reporting, back-end database management, and ETL interfacing technologies. Direct all communications with clients and team members to understand objectives, document technical requirements/features, create deliverables, and communicate findings (BI solution designs and implementations). Design and execute IT, quantitative, and qualitative analyses to address key project issues. Lead feasibility analysis, select technologies that provide optimal solutions, and identify ZS proprietary products that fit the proposed solution. Apply IT project management activities including planning, scoping, requirements through implementation, and quality assurance within timelines and budgets. Manage delivery dates, resourcing, and scheduling while identifying and mitigating IT project and client risks. Lead business and strategy development meetings to ensure goals are met and conduct team status meetings to coordinate subprojects and ensure deliverables meet quality standards. Ensure solutions are designed to balance existing assets with client-specific needs and architecture requirements. Develop and manage client relationships across multiple projects and identify opportunities to contribute to additional solutions delivery work. Facilitate collaboration with the Software Development Lifecycle team (requirements gathering, testing, rollout and operations) to ensure smooth transitions. Ensure appropriate staffing and ongoing engagement of technical team members through staffing analysis, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring as needed. Mentor subordinates, conduct performance reviews, provide coaching on project management and professional goals, and train on ZS proprietary software for client presentations. May work in various, unanticipated locations throughout the United States; position may require up to 25% domestic travel. Qualifications
Master’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field with 3 years of related experience. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, with 5 years of progressive experience in a related pharma, life sciences, or healthcare management consulting role. Required experience: Managing end-to-end projects Leading/mentoring teams Client-facing work Front-end user reporting BI solution design and implementation SQL Python JIRA Data engineering Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP) AI technologies Business development activities and collaboration with sales/marketing Preparing responses to RFPs Growth and Benefits
