
Principal Product Manager - Growth & Engagement

As a Principal Product Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the future of geico.com as the front-door to GEICO’s digital experiences. You will lead product strategy, drive the development and execution of product roadmaps, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact products that drive growth and customer satisfaction. You must be comfortable communicating and influencing at all levels of the organization.
Additionally, you are an AI-native builder who thrives in a scrappy ambiguous start-up environment yet has deep product experience to build complex products from scratch and scale them up.
This position is a hybrid role that requires you to be on-site 2-3 days a week at one of the following locations: Palo Alto, CA; Bethesda, MD; Seattle, WA.
Job Responsibilities
Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for GEICO’s public web platform and entry point experiences, aligned to GEICO’s growth, retention, and digital transformation goals.
Drive end-to-end growth and engagement, partnering with product and marketing teams to align brand promises with downstream experiences and improve overall customer experience lifecycle quality.
Define and lead AI-driven personalization across entry point experiences including dynamic UI and messaging, content and offer orchestration, next-best-action guidance, and friction reduction based on behavioral data, intent signals, and real-time context.
Lead cross-functional teams through the entire product lifecycle, from concept to launch and beyond.
Conduct funnel and cohort analysis, market and competitive research, and customer interviews to identify the highest-leverage opportunities and inform product decisions.
Prioritize features and initiatives based on customer feedback, business impact, and technical feasibility, making trade-off decisions when needed.
Drive product development efforts, including defining requirements, managing backlog, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality releases.
Establish a high-velocity experimentation engine to optimize early-stage growth and engagement, using AI to increase learning velocity and decision quality while maintaining platform stability and data integrity.
Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment and drive alignment on key decisions.
Define north-star metrics and KPI trees and continuously monitor product performance, analyze metrics, and iterate on features to optimize user experience and drive measurable business outcomes.
Connect with external and internal customers to regularly understand their needs and build long-lasting relationships.
Identify options and recommendations, working through trade-offs with other leaders to remove impediments for the team.
Oversee product rollout plan, segmentation, product adoption, and opportunities for product promotion.
Partner with Data & Technology leaders to influence end-state architecture and instrumentation strategy and drive secure, resilient, accessible, performant, and scalable product solutions and measurement pipelines that address material customer and business problems.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
10+ years of product management experience, with significant ownership in high-traffic consumer web platforms or subscription/ecommerce products.
Proven track record delivering successful products and measurable improvements in acquisition, retention, and conversion funnels through experimentation and product-led optimization.
Strong quantitative background with hands‑on experience analyzing large datasets and making causally grounded decisions.
Experience with instrumentation, experimentation, and rollout tooling (e.g., StatSig, Optimizely, Adobe Target, feature flag systems, or internal frameworks).
Demonstrated ability to apply modern ML/LLM capabilities to accelerate growth velocity (personalization, recommendations, intent prediction, insight automation, and decision support) while maintaining responsible AI practices.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders and inspire cross‑functional teams.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex ideas to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Experience working with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps.
Passion for innovation, continuous learning, and driving positive change.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience owning or leading product strategy for digital insurance shopping and quoting experiences or in similar regulated environments (e.g., financial services, healthcare, etc.).
Strong understanding of modern web architecture including APIs, CMS ecosystems, and front‑end frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js, modern JavaScript frameworks).
Experience with personalization, recommendations, ranking, or next-best-action systems; familiarity with model evaluation, monitoring, and experimentation for ML systems.
Experience building or scaling growth platforms rather than isolated experiments.
Strong foundation in experimentation and measurement (e.g., Power analysis, false positives, bias control, variance reduction, and causal inference).
Hands‑on fluency in SQL and analytics tooling (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Mode) and experience defining instrumentation and event schemas.
MBA, MS, or technical degree a plus.
