VP / Director of Sales – Global Freight Forwarding (U.S. FOB Export Focus) U.S. Market Build-Out | Chicago Preferred We are retained by a fast-growing international logistics platform to appoint a

VP / Director of Sales

to lead its U.S. commercial expansion.

This is a

front-line commercial leadership role

focused on building and scaling a

U.S.-origin controlled (FOB) export business , driving cargo flows from the United States into China and Southeast Asia.

NVOCC and buyer’s consolidation

Project logistics and specialized cargo (incl. DG)

3PL and end-to-end supply chain solutions

With

30+ offices, 300+ global agent partners, and a presence across North America and Asia , the company supports over

30,000 customers globally

and continues to scale its international footprint.

The company is now investing in building a

U.S.-led outbound platform , with a

Chicago office planned for 2026–2027

as part of this expansion.

The Mandate This is a

builder role , not a maintenance role.

We are looking for a leader who can

originate cargo, build a team, and scale a platform .

You will be responsible for:

Owning and driving

U.S. export revenue (FOB-controlled cargo)

Leveraging existing relationships with

U.S. exporters and BCOs

Expanding key outbound trade lanes from the U.S. to global markets, with a strong focus on Asia

Building and executing a

national sales strategy

Hiring, mentoring, and scaling a

multi-regional sales team

Operating as a

player-coach (closing + leading)

Delivering

aggressive, build-stage growth targets

Candidate Profile We are seeking a

commercially driven, relationship-led sales executive

with a strong track record in freight forwarding.

Successful candidates will typically bring:

Experience within

well-established global freight forwarding / NVOCC platforms

Proven ability to

originate and control U.S. FOB export cargo

Strong relationships with

U.S.-based exporters, manufacturers, and distributors

Demonstrated success in

winning and scaling revenue

Experience leading

10–20+ sales professionals across regions

Deep knowledge of:

You

control cargo at origin (U.S.) , not just destination relationships

You can

bring or quickly convert business within the first 6–12 months

You are comfortable operating within

structured, performance-driven global platforms

You have the ability to

build and scale teams from scratch

Asia Connectivity (Highly Valued)

Experience working with

China and Southeast Asia markets

Ability to operate across

U.S.–Asia commercial dynamics

Cultural familiarity with

China-based stakeholders

Mandarin is a plus
