A global freight forwarding company is seeking an
Import / Export Coordinator
to join their office in Jamaica, NY. 1~3+ years of working experience in the freight forwarding industry or work experience in customer service field preferred, a A.A. degree, and excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook). This is a full-time and direct hire position. Entry-level candidates and new graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply!
Responsibilities
Coordinate international air, ocean, and ground freight shipments
Arrange bookings with airlines, steamship lines, and trucking companies
Prepare and review shipping documentation (Commercial Invoice, Packing List, B/L, AWB)
Manage AES filings and export documentation
Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and export control requirements
Communicate with customers regarding shipment status and documentation requirements
Work closely with customs brokers and overseas agents
Monitor cargo movement and resolve delays or discrepancies
Maintain accurate shipment records in TMS / ERP systems
Support government-related shipments in compliance with federal regulations
Qualifications
1~3 + years of experience in freight forwarding or international logistics
Strong knowledge of air and ocean freight operations
Experience preparing export documentation and AES filings
Understanding of Incoterms and international shipping terms
Familiarity with U.S. Customs procedures
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
Japanese language will be an asset, not mandatory
Due to the nature of certain government-related shipments and applicable export control regulations, U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
