Role Overview: The Director of Brand & Communications, Incubator – Global will lead brand strategy, storytelling, GTM planning, and communications for Deciem’s portfolio of incubator brands. This hybrid role – 3 days in our Soho NYC office – is responsible for shaping how new brands come to life from concept to market launch, and for creating, shaping, and launching the next generation of beauty brands by Deciem.

Responsibilities

Responsible for defining brand & communications direction, product positioning, PR strategies, seeding efforts, and other go-to-market tactics that will build engagement, talkability and purchase intent.

Develop and own all brand foundational elements (target consumer, positioning, tone messaging, and beyond).

Ensure each incubator brand has a clear “why” with a distinct point of view.

Guide brand evolution from launch through scale, adjusting strategy as brands grow and capitalizing on consumer feedback, talkability, and real-time opportunities.

Lead storytelling strategy across earned, owned, and paid channels working in close partnership with digital, social, comms, and commercial teams.

Craft launch narratives, key messages, and compelling angles to engage media, influencers, and creators.

Work closely with the Social Media Manager in developing content calendar and community building tactics.

Work closely with Art Director and Creative team to define the brand & creative approach for each incubator brand.

Partner with cross-functional teams including Scientific, Digital, Retail, Supply Chain and Finance to execute tactics that will continue to grow brand equity and identify key areas of opportunity for DECIEM globally.

Build and mentor a small but high-impact brand & communications team focused on creativity and agility.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in brand and/or communications – ideally within consumer brands, startups, or agencies.

5+ years of people management and/or leadership experience is required.

Proven experience building brands from early stages or leading rebrands.

Demonstration of an entrepreneurial spirit with future-thinking mindset and self‑starter motivation.

Strong understanding of the beauty industry and consumer sentiment with extensive branding knowledge related to other industries such as fashion, lifestyle, etc.
