The Preble County ESC is seeking a Preschool Intervention Specialist to serve in our preschool program.

Position: Preschool Intervention Specialist

Reports to: Preschool Supervisor

Employment Status: Regular/Full-Time or Long Term Substitute

FLSA Status: Exempt

Duty Days: 189

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Description: Provide classroom instruction to preschool students

Essential Functions

Ensure safety of students

Teach and evaluate the students using sound instructional practices

Maintain accurate and complete records as required

Provide complete lesson plans for substitute

Work with general education teachers in transitioning of students

Ensure that the IEP goals/objectives for students are met

Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students

Instruct assigned classes in the locations and times designated

Write and follow individual student IEP's

Follow the scope and sequence of the instructional program as defined in the course of study

Participate in collaborative team teaching with colleagues

Serve as a member of the IEP team

Attend meetings and in-services as required

Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parents

Effectively manage the classroom and individual student behavior to maintain a good learning environment

Prepare clear and timely lesson plans

Provide guidance to students which will promote their welfare and their proper educational development

Observe ethics of the teaching profession

Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., case history

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university

Appropriate State of Ohio certification/license

Preschool Intervention Specialist certificate

One year of related experience preferred

Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board may find appropriate. May consider applicant with a general education PreK license as a long term sub, if they are willing to go back to school to obtain their Preschool Intervention Specialist certificate.
