Short Description The Assistant Director of Quality Outcomes supports Cooper University Health Care’s mission by leading quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives within the Bone and Joint Institute. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, optimizes patient outcomes through data-driven strategies, and provides oversight of the Nurse Navigation team to promote efficient, patient-centered care. The position serves as a strategic and operational resource bridging clinical, administrative, and quality goals across the Institute.

Responsibilities

Develops, implements, and evaluates quality and safety initiatives across the Bone and Joint Institute, utilizing data analytics to identify trends, set benchmarks, and drive measurable improvements in patient outcomes.

Leads multidisciplinary quality and safety committees to ensure compliance and best practices.

Ensures adherence to all regulatory and accreditation standards (TJC, CMS, DOH, OSHA, HIPAA) within the ambulatory practice environment.

Monitors risk management activities, safety events, and performance metrics to support a culture of accountability and transparency.

Provides direct oversight to the Nurse Navigation team and other quality-focused staff, coaching, mentoring, and evaluating team members to achieve departmental goals while fostering engagement, professional growth, and high performance.

Oversees collection, analysis, and reporting of clinical and operational data to evaluate quality outcomes. Prepares presentations and reports for leadership, committees, and regulatory bodies, recommending evidence-based strategies for improvement.

Partners with providers, nurses, and administrative teams to standardize care processes, promote evidence-based practice, and enhance patient satisfaction, safety, and access to care across all service lines.

Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Practice and other Institute leadership to align departmental goals with organizational priorities, supporting long-term quality improvement initiatives and integration across service lines.

Leads proactive communication strategies to support change management, ensuring staff understanding, engagement, and alignment with institutional initiatives. Promotes effective information flow across multidisciplinary teams.

Experience Required

3 years of leadership required.

5 years preferred.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree required.

Master's degree required.

License/Certification Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Master’s Degree

RN with state licensure

BLS/ACLS
