seeking an
Underwriting Assistant . This position will work closely with Account Managers to provide best in class service to the program’s VP of Underwriting and Client Service. This includes evaluating and managing submissions, endorsement requests, bind requests and loss run requests, communicating with producer, account managers, whole sellers and commercial reinsurers, and assuring accurate entry of data into the programs’ systems. This role requires a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented professional with a foundation in commercial property and casualty insurance to work in a fast-paced environment with a keen attention to detail.
Responsibilities: Manage incoming submissions by assuring that they are complete and ready to be underwritten Assure that submissions have not been received from other producers Communicate with producers and gather information as needed to assure submission is complete Enter data into company system(s) Process bind requests, loss run requests, cancellations, renewal and new business submissions, and endorsements requests as directed Assure accurate filing of documents as directed Assist with evaluation of reinsurance certificates for concurrency and accuracy with primary policies
Qualifications: 1-3+ years of experience in commercial insurance, underwriting, account management, or client servicing role.
