Purchasing Specialist

Our organization, serving a network of skilled nursing facilities, is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Specialist to manage procurement operations. You'll work closely with facility staff to review, place, and approve orders while maintaining strong supplier relationships. The Purchasing Specialist will act as a key liaison between facilities and vendorssourcing new suppliers, negotiating favorable purchase terms, and ensuring products meet technical and quality standards. This role also involves monitoring supplier performance, resolving supply issues, and supporting management with data-driven purchasing strategies. Key Responsibilities:

Research and identify prospective suppliers while maintaining strong vendor relationships Liaise with internal teams at multiple facilities to review and approve orders Evaluate products and suppliers according to key business criteria and compliance standards Prepare proposals, request quotes, and negotiate purchase terms and conditions Issue purchase orders and agreements while maintaining accurate procurement records Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or discrepancies Inspect and evaluate purchased items to ensure quality and compliance Analyze demand trends and support the development of sourcing strategies Prepare regular procurement reports and manage inventory levels Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Qualifications:

2+ years of experience

as a purchasing specialist or in a similar procurement role Healthcare purchasing experience required

(skilled nursing facility experience preferred) Familiarity with

OnCare/Procurement Partners

systems is a plus Strong knowledge of purchasing strategies and vendor negotiations Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing/ERP software Team-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities High school diploma/GED required; further education in supply chain or business is a plus Location: Brooklyn, NY Type: Full-time Salary: $65,000$85,000/year (commensurate with experience)
