Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator

We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator to support procurement and shipping operations. This role is responsible for sourcing vendors, managing purchase orders, coordinating shipments, and ensuring accurate documentation. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively balance purchasing and logistics responsibilities. Pay: $18+/hour (based on experience) Schedule: MondayThursday, 7:00 AM 4:30 PM | Friday, 7:00 AM 11:00 AM Key Responsibilities

Purchasing

Research and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers Compare pricing, quality, and delivery timelines to determine best value Negotiate pricing and contract terms with suppliers Process purchase orders and enter order details into internal systems Track orders and ensure on-time delivery Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, invoices, and supplier performance Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage of materials Handle discrepancies including shortages, overages, damaged goods, and backorders Prepare purchasing reports and cost analyses Process invoices and maintain documentation Shipping & Logistics

Review freight rates and transportation costs to ensure cost efficiency Execute logistics plans to meet production and delivery schedules Coordinate shipments with carriers, vendors, customers, and overseas agents Arrange cargo transportation and ensure timely delivery Prepare and process required documentation, including:

Bills of Lading (BOLs) Air Waybills (AWB) Invoices Export declarations (EEI) Import documentation and shipment records

Create and maintain detailed shipment files Track shipments and communicate status updates to all relevant parties Manage billing, quoting, filing, and customer service related to shipments Qualifications & Skills

Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred ERP system experience preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent time management and organizational skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Analytical and problem-solving abilities Basic understanding of logistics systems and international shipping regulations Some college coursework preferred Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
