The DBA team is responsible for ensuring that application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schemas meet department standards for data requirements.
The candidate will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, amendments, and optimization of database schemas to meet system requirements. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to develop database and data warehousing designs across multiple platforms and computing environments.
The candidate must work as part of a team to assist in developing an overall data architecture that supports the Department’s needs and complies with Department and Agency for State Technology (AST) security standards.
Education Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience The candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years of combined experience in database administration across the following platforms:
Experience with IBM DB2
Proficiency with SQL Server 2016 and above
Proficiency with Oracle 19c and above
Experience with Azure SQL is a plus
Primary Job Duties / Tasks This resource will primarily be responsible for performing database (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle) planning and operational activities, including but not limited to:
Daily operational and database administration activities
Planning, designing, implementing, and supporting database structures
Conducting database performance monitoring and tuning
Developing and maintaining database administration procedures and documentation
Performing SQL code reviews
Assisting with training and mentoring other technical staff
This resource may also be required to perform other database or infrastructure-related activities as requested.
