Job Overview & Essential Functions
Murphy‑Hoffman Company, LLC, North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group, seeks a Benefit Specialist. This fully in‑office role is located in Leawood, KS, and focuses on administering employee benefit programs and answering employee questions. The Benefit Specialist provides guidance to all MHC locations on various employee benefits.
Responsibilities
Administer employee benefit programs including health insurance, prescription drug, dental, vision, profit sharing, voluntary term life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, employee assistance program, flexible spending account, health savings account, and credit union plans.
Respond to benefit inquiries from employees.
Act as liaison between employees and benefit vendors.
Handle COBRA notifications, enrollments, terminations, and COBRA payment collection.
Serve as Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and leave‑of‑absence (LOA) coordinator.
Assist in developing benefit presentations and communication materials to educate employees.
Compile data and produce reports using computer skills.
Identify process improvement opportunities and implement new procedures where possible.
Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience in human resources or benefits administration preferred.
Excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette.
Well‑organized and detail oriented.
Proficient computer skills and prior office experience required.
Familiarity with employee benefit plan administration.
