Assistant Coach – Field Hockey
Position Summary:
Assist the head coach with all aspects of the Field Hockey program including practice and competition activities, player skill development, recruiting, directing and implementing plans for daily practices and competitions, organizing and administering clinics, and overall administrative tasks within the operation of the program. Must demonstrate integrity, leadership, a strong commitment, and ability to motivate, teach, counsel and recruit academically qualified students.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required (or foreign degree equivalent) with at least 1 year of experience in relevant independent instructional or educational activities; specific minimum experience is at the discretion of the Director of Athletics.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
At least one year of coaching experience in an intercollegiate environment preferably at a Division I level.
Knowledge of Field Hockey techniques, terminology, and skill awareness.
Knowledge of and familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations.
Good organizational, interpersonal communication, and computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Master’s Degree preferred.
Prefer at least 1 year in relevant independent or educational activities.
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Must be able to lift/move 25 lbs or greater; may be required to navigate stairs.
Attention to detail essential.
Must be able to manage high volume, fast‑paced environment.
May be subject to working in extreme weather conditions; travel required.
Campus Security Authority Responsibilities This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. It will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
