A U.S.-based organization is seeking a

Customs & Trade Operations Manager

to oversee cross‑border import and export activities across the U.S. and Canada. This role manages a wide range of shipments, trade systems, brokerage partners, and regulatory processes while ensuring compliance with all applicable customs and trade requirements. The position is ideal for a detail‑oriented leader who excels in complex, high‑volume environments and enjoys working across multiple business functions. Key Responsibilities

Oversee U.S. and Canadian import and export operations for a variety of goods and materials. Manage non‑standard and specialty export processes, including manual AES filings. Lead administration of trade systems and related technology initiatives. Oversee national customs brokerage relationships and vendors responsible for regulatory filings. Manage temporary imports, bonded shipments, and other specialized entry types. Handle ACH duty payments, record retention, and compliance documentation management. Conduct audits, evaluate compliance risk, and apply corrective procedures to minimize exposure. Provide internal training on trade compliance requirements and procedures. Collaborate with internal teams across compliance, operations, legal, finance, and supply chain. Lead, mentor, and develop team members. Qualifications

10+ years

of experience in customs, trade compliance, or global trade operations, including

2+ years

supervising teams in a complex industry. Bachelor’s degree in international trade, accounting, or a related field. Active U.S. Customs Broker’s License

required. Strong knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, valuation, classification, CTPAT, and related compliance frameworks. Experience designing, implementing, and improving trade compliance processes. Proficiency in MS Office; working knowledge of ACE, ACE Portal, ABI, and ability to serve as an ACE account owner. Strong communication, analytical, and leadership abilities; capable of operating with minimal supervision.
