Manager/Elite Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) - Import/Export Leader

An international logistics and customs brokerage organization in the Jersey City / NYC metro area is seeking an experienced Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) with strong leadership, management, and import/export operations experience to oversee customs brokerage activities and support international trade operations.

Active U.S. Customs Broker License is REQUIRED for this position.

This position is ideal for a hands‑on leader with deep knowledge of customs compliance, import/export documentation, and brokerage operations who can lead teams while ensuring efficient and compliant international shipments.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily customs brokerage and import/export operations

Ensure full compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and international trade requirements

Serve as the company's Licensed Customs Broker of record where applicable

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of entry writers, import/export specialists, and brokerage staff

Review and approve customs entries, HTS classifications, and import/export documentation

Ensure compliance with tariff classification, valuation, PGA requirements, and trade regulations

Manage and optimize import and export processes including documentation, filings, and regulatory requirements

Develop and implement standard operating procedures and internal compliance programs

Communicate with CBP, government agencies, carriers, and clients regarding shipment and customs issues

Provide guidance on complex entries, audits, and regulatory updates

Requirements (Must Have)

Active U.S. Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) license - REQUIRED

7+ years of customs brokerage and import/export operations experience

Leadership or management experience within brokerage or international logistics operations

Strong knowledge of HTS classification, customs valuation, import/export regulations, and compliance

Experience with customs brokerage software

Strong knowledge of international shipping documentation and trade processes

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred

Experience working with freight forwarding or global logistics organizations

Experience managing high-volume import/export operations

Compensation

$85,000 - $135,000 base salary (DOE)
