
Purchasing Agent

Position Overview
BradyPLUS is looking for a Purchasing Agent to manage the purchasing and replenishment of goods and services, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and cost effectiveness across assigned supplier lines.
Key Responsibilities
Place direct purchase orders and manage delivery schedules.
Generate purchase orders with fiscal responsibility, following company parameters.
Monitor service and fill‑rate metrics, utilizing analytics tools to maintain performance.
Analyze market trends to identify cost‑saving opportunities and recommend strategies to leadership.
Apply procurement strategies that reduce costs while meeting operational needs.
Track inventory levels to prevent stock shortages or excess, balancing cash flow and customer satisfaction.
Use ERP to analyze demand data, suggest forecasting adjustments, and monitor daily Excel reports for backorder improvement.
Determine appropriate procurement paths (direct vs. transfer, hub/spoke models) and initiate vendor returns or product transfers within the network.
Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers, exercising sound judgment in vendor interactions and agreements.
Evaluate supplier performance and collaborate with leadership to address issues; develop alternative sources to mitigate risk.
Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and regulations, maintaining accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information.
Collaborate closely with operations, merchandising, finance, and other departments to align purchasing with overall business objectives.
Ideal Candidate
At least three years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management.
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related field (preferred).
Industry‑specific experience or product knowledge preferred.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Strong attention to detail.
