Job Description
As the Manager - Trade Compliance, you will oversee and manage all aspects of export and import compliance globally, develop, review, and implement policies and procedures related to U.S. and international trade activities for companies operating worldwide, and provide guidance to internal departments to ensure trade compliance. Responsibilities
Functions as professional authority on trade compliance matters for transaction reviews and other concerns. Participates in the development of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with export and import regulations. Oversees and administers export licensing and associated authorization requirements for controlled goods in the U.S. and other countries in which the company does business. Audits and reviews export and import activities for continuous improvement with the compliance process. Prepares and manages written responses and submissions to import and/or export related requests from Customs and export control agencies. Liaises with freight forwarders, Customs brokers and suppliers to resolve trade compliance topics. Utilizes trade compliance knowledge to research and apply trade regulations to the business. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field required. Licensed Customs Broker preferred. 6 years required international business experience (import or export). 2 years required managing U.S. export and/or import compliance. 2 years required managing a department and staff employees. Previous experience using global trade management tools is preferred. Knowledge of U.S. export regulations and interpretation of export control classifications. Knowledge of U.S. import regulations and interpretation of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications. Ability to partner with law firms and consultants internationally to implement export and import compliance programs suited to Wesco’s business model. Current on import and export regulatory changes and best practices in trade compliance. Strong leadership, negotiation, business analysis, people management, and written and verbal communication skills. Intimate knowledge of Wesco’s business practices and strategies preferred. $103,331 - $139,497 annually. These figures represent the expected compensation; offers may vary based on location, education, experience, and other factors. Benefits
