
Emergency Management Specialist

Responsibilities
Monitor and prioritize emergency alerts and communications.
Use emergency management systems such as the National Incident Management System (NIMS) to support and track response activities.
Review documentation and coordinate with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, or international partners during emergencies.
Qualifications
All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
Minimum Qualifications: For GS‑11 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS‑09 level, including the experience listed above.
Alternatively, a Ph.D., or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher‑level graduate education leading to a doctoral degree or LL.M. from an accredited institution.
Or a combination of graduate‑level education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
Experience may include paid and unpaid work, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work will be credited if it develops relevant competencies and skills.
