Independent Contractor – Senior Advisor, Education to Career Strategy and Partnerships Engagement Period: April 1, 2026 – September 30, 2026

Purpose of Engagement The Independent Contractor will serve as a senior strategic advisor to support the organization’s market positioning, fundraising and relationship-building in the field as we launch our strategic plan focused on bridging the gap between education and career. The engagement is intended to accelerate the development of fundable initiatives, strengthen the organization’s external presence in the field, and support leadership in forming/expanding funder relationships and partnerships within the workforce development, economic mobility, and education-to-career ecosystem.

Scope of Services A. Market positioning and gap analysis

Assess TNTP’s current position in the field:

Map existing services and offerings against market expectations.

Identify the most important gaps we need to close to achieve impact in this space.

Provide feedback on draft proposals and concepts

B. Ecosystem expertise and credibility placement

Provide subject‑matter expertise on the national education to career ecosystem, including education-to-career pathways, employer engagement, and systems‑level reform.

Advise on alignment with funder priorities, policy dynamics, and existing field initiatives.

Identify opportunities for the organization to play a distinctive and credible role within the ecosystem.

Advise senior leaders on funder strategy, positioning, and engagement approaches.

Support preparation for high‑stakes funder conversations through framing, sequencing, and narrative refinement.

C. Support TNTP’s presence

Identify ~50 high‑value individuals across:

policy,

intermediary organizations,

field leaders and influencers.

Prioritize contacts based on relevance and leverage.

Facilitate introductions to new partners in the sector with well‑aligned priorities.

Support efforts to increase external visibility and influence through strategic participation in field conversations and funder‑facing engagements, as appropriate.

Deliverables may include, but are not limited to:

Short market positioning brief

Landscape map of players and influence pathways.

Specific recommendations for where and how TNTP should seek inclusion.

The Contractor will collaborate closely with designated organizational leads. Regular check‑ins will be scheduled to align priorities, review progress, and adapt scope as needed. The Contractor will retain independence over how work is performed, consistent with independent contractor status, while aligning to agreed‑upon outcomes and deliverables.

Level of Expertise Required The Contractor is expected to bring senior‑level experience in fundraising and concept development, deep knowledge of the education to career ecosystem, credibility with philanthropic funders and field leaders, strong strategic judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, high‑impact environments.

Engagement Period This Scope of Work covers the period from May 1, 2026 through September 30, 2026. Any extension or modification of this scope or term must be documented in writing and mutually agreed upon by both parties.

Consulting Fees The Company shall pay Consultant fees in the amount of $250.00/hour.
