
Maintenance Solutions Consultant

Job Summary
The Maintenance Solutions Consultant is responsible for driving the growth of our preventative maintenance portfolio. This dual-focus role involves new business development (cold-calling and new in-house leads) and strategic construction pull-through, where you will engage clients during the construction phase to transition them into long-term service agreements.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Construction Pull-Through:
Collaborate with the Construction Department to identify upcoming project completions. Initiate engagement with clients prior to project handoff to demonstrate the value of a VMG partnership post-warranty.
New Market Development:
Identify and qualify "cold" prospects that match VMG’s ideal profile - focusing on facilities with high-tonnage HVAC, VRF, and complex plumbing needs.
Technical Site Surveys:
Perform on-site equipment audits to identify system types, conditions, and maintenance requirements.
Full-Cycle Sales Management:
From initial cold call or construction intro to final signature, manage the proposal pipeline to meet or exceed quarterly growth goals.
Consultative Presentations:
Deliver data-driven presentations that showcase the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and the ROI of preventative maintenance.
CRM Precision:
Utilize our CRM to track all activity, upload site photos, and maintain an accurate proposal pipeline.
Internal Synergy:
Maintain tight communication with Service Operations and Construction leaders to ensure promised service levels are achievable and profitable.
Experience & Requirements
3–5 Years B2B Sales Experience:
Proven track record in mechanical, industrial, or construction-adjacent services.
Technical Aptitude:
Ability to navigate mechanical rooms and identify commercial HVAC/Plumbing equipment.
Education:
High school diploma required; Technical background or Business degree preferred.
Mobility:
Valid driver’s license and clean record for frequent travel to job sites and prospect locations.
Required Skills
Proactive Business Prospecting:
Comfortable with cold calling and persistent follow-up.
Financial Acumen:
Ability to discuss margins, labor rates, and operational efficiency with savvy facility owners.
Tech Savvy:
Proficient in Microsoft 365 and mobile-based field software.
Negotiator:
Strong ability to handle technical objections and close multi-year service agreements.
Customer Advocate:
Serve as the customer’s advocate, ensuring long-term operational continuity and mechanical reliability for our clients' high-value investments.
