Job Title: Marketing and Communications Specialist
Reports To: Director of Marketing and Communications

Pay Type: Hourly
Compensation
Pay range: $18.00-$20.00/hr.
Benefits: For employees contracted for 30 hours per week or more, Thomas MacLaren School pays for 100% of the employee’s base insurance premiums for health, dental, vision, long‑term and short‑term disability, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance for the base level coverages. No benefits are provided to employees contracted for less than 30 hours per week.
General Purpose To support the communication, marketing, and enrollment processes for the school.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Communications, Marketing, and Branding
Help with the production of all school publications.
Format and send out communications.
Generate and post regular social media content.
Assist in creating and publishing the school directory.
Capture key school events and photo opportunities.
Maintain organization of school photo collection.
Support marketing events.
Collaborate on the creation and design of communications and marketing materials for the school.
Website and School Application
Support functionality, efficiency, security, and ease of use of the school website for all users.
Manage access rights for users.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to keep content current and consistent with Thomas MacLaren School branding.
Audit the website quarterly to ensure compliance, update directory and content, fix broken links, and remove expired content.
Communicate with leadership on maximising potential use of the website to serve the school community.
Conduct an annual usability test with outside testers.
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to meet competing deadlines.
Understanding and passion for Thomas MacLaren School’s mission and vision.
Excellent proofreading skills.
Education High School Diploma.
Experience Knowledge of various word processing programs; experience with Constant Contact and graphic design software is a plus.
