The Sales & Marketing Manager will oversee and lead the activities of the Sales Department and assist Operations Manager and President in strategic company initiatives. This is a Sales Manager focused role first with marketing duties as a secondary.
Responsibilities
Hire and train sales staff, organize and oversee the schedules, and performance of sales staff. Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. Provide leadership and support to the sales team, motivate, and encourage sales team to ensure goals are met. Review and analyze sales and operational records and reports; using data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new markets. Identify and analyze customer preferences to properly direct sales efforts. Consult with potential customers to understand their needs; identify and suggests equipment, products, or services that will meet those needs. Resolve customer complaints, staffing problems, and other issues that may interfere with efficient sales operations. Collaborate with executive leadership to develop sales quotas and strategies. Prepares sales budget; monitors and approves expenses. Acts as company representative at trade association meetings. Co-ordinate and manage all marketing aspects with President for marketing plan, regional and national sales etc. Other duties as assigned. Skills
Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field, OR comparable record of sales leadership experience required. 5+ years of Sales management experience, background in flooring, construction or building industry preferred. Experience in government contracting and procurement a plus. Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills. Strong supervisory and empathetic leadership skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office programs and a willingness to learn our operating systems.
