
Marketing Activation Specialist, Midwest

Position Overview
We are seeking a Regional Marketing Activation Specialist for our Corporate Midwest Clubs (Chicago, Chain O’Lakes, Wisconsin, and Toronto). The role focuses on launching marketing initiatives, managing promotions, and coordinating events to support the growth of Freedom Boat Club brands in the region.
Essential Functions
Promotion Activation & Content Creation:
Develop, launch, and manage monthly regional promotions across email, text, and other communication channels.
Local Marketing & Sales Support:
Serve as the subject matter expert on marketing activations, guide the sales team, and assist with sales promotion materials and POS collateral.
Event Planning, Execution & Coordination:
Lead planning, coordination, and execution of local events such as boat shows, sales events, and member appreciation activities. Attend most events as required.
Event Tracking & Performance:
Monitor and evaluate event performance, maintain a calendar of opportunities, and provide insights and recommendations based on data.
Stakeholder & Brand Communications:
Prepare and present activation-related communications, develop playbooks, and facilitate regional team meetings.
Social Media Management:
Create content for regional social media pages in collaboration with the Social Media Manager.
Email Campaigns:
Support creation and distribution of club/member communications and newsletters.
Marketing Collateral & Compliance:
Assist in developing digital and print marketing assets, ensuring brand guideline adherence.
Invoice Management:
Review, approve, and track marketing invoices within the region, maintaining proper documentation and budget compliance.
Ad‑hoc Marketing Support:
Provide support for additional marketing initiatives and propose innovative ideas to drive growth.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2–4 years of relevant marketing experience.
Strong writing, storytelling, and editing skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Customer‑focused mindset.
Ability to work cross‑functionally.
Experience coordinating events and managing multiple stakeholders.
Flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and frequent travel to clubs.
Hands‑on, entrepreneurial approach and ability to manage multiple projects with quick turnaround.
Preferred Qualifications
Growth mindset and desire for internal career advancement.
Experience launching products for leading brands.
Proven event planning experience from concept to completion, including logistics and vendor coordination.
Experience in both agency and corporate environments.
Experience working in a matrixed organization.
Working Conditions
Remote position requiring use of computer, phone, and other electronic applications.
Occasional work outdoors and in varied weather conditions during events.
Work near and on the water during events.
Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time, including domestically and to Canada.
Reliable transportation for commuting and traveling to events.
Compensation Annual base salary range: $58,700 – $81,500, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
