Sales Compensation Analyst II

What is the opportunity? Sales Compensation Analyst will play a key role in the oversight and administration of commission and sales incentive plans. The role includes assisting with the implementation, configuration, and development of incentive management systems used to manage monthly, quarterly and annual incentive payments across multiple business lines and strategies. The analyst will ensure accuracy and compliance with business objectives, new and changing business requirements, partner with the business and cross‑functional teams to analyze plans and plan effectiveness, identify trends, and support design, development and documentation of new and enhanced plans. The analyst will support system configuration, documentation, and ensure system readiness and alignment with business goals.

What will you do?

Assist in the implementation, design and development of the Varicent incentive management platform, onboarding current incentive plans into the system and configuring calculations and reporting.

Assist in the design and development of new compensation plans to meet organizational objectives.

Participate in and test expected results in a test environment, identifying issues.

Analyze compensation‑related data and performance metrics to identify trends, discrepancies and opportunities.

Provide data‑driven recommendations to leadership for plan optimization, performance improvements and alignment with business objectives.

Create and deliver comprehensive reporting, providing insights into compensation plan performance.

Gather and interpret new and evolving business requirements for compensation plans.

Develop technical documentation for system configurations and calculations.

Write plan documents detailing the structure, rules and metrics of the compensation programs.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as HR, Lines of Business, Finance, IT, Compliance, Risk and Legal to ensure accurate compensation plan implementation.

Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations and industry standards.

Provide troubleshooting and support for system issues related to compensation calculations.

Ensure files are accurate and submitted to payroll in a timely manner for payout processing.

What do you need to succeed? Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

Minimum 5+ years of experience supporting users, managing priorities, setting expectations and driving issues to resolution.

Minimum 4+ years of experience using an Incentive Compensation Management System.

Minimum 4+ years of experience in an incentive compensation system administrator role, configuring plans, dashboards and reporting.

Minimum 4+ years of experience working with business users to understand and document business requirements.

Minimum 2+ years of experience creating test plans and conducting testing.

Additional Qualifications

Varicent Incentive Compensation Management System Knowledge preferred.

Strong analytical and research skills.

Ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.

Ability to work independently, solve problems and meet deadlines.

Balanced business and technical acumen.

Self‑motivated, able to take initiative and work independently.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

General understanding of software development cycles.

Prior experience in a banking environment preferred.

Ability to read basic SQL scripts is a plus.

What’s in it for you? Compensation Starting base salary: $77,000 – $143,000 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
