The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Financial Management Specialist (GS-0501-7T12) to work at Peterson Space Force Base, CO. Position can be filled at any grade. The member will serve as a remediation specialist in the AFAA, providing assistance and guidance concerning financial statement and process deficiencies. Interfaces and works with personnel to conduct root cause analyses, develop remediation plans, and implement corrective actions for internal and external accounting, audit, and budget deficiencies. Provides technical advice on solutions to address financial statement and process deficiencies.

Salary

$51,792 - $119,434

Travel

25% travel • No remote or telework authorized • Permanent position

Responsibilities

Serve as remediation specialist in the AFAA, providing assistance and guidance on financial statement and process deficiencies.

Conduct root cause analyses, develop remediation plans, and implement corrective actions for internal and external accounting, audit, and budget deficiencies.

Provide technical advice on solutions to address financial statement and process deficiencies.

Qualifications

U.S. citizenship is required.

Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance.

Responsible for safeguarding sensitive information and files.

This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act. Member will comply with the requirements of this certification program.

Requirements and Additional Information

Knowledge of US GAAP, FASAB, AICPA, NIST, GAO, OMB, DOD FMR and related accounting, auditing, risk management, budget operations, and project management principles.

Knowledge of FMFIA, FEMIA, CFO Act, and FISMA.

Understanding of missions, roles, functions, and operations of AFAA, DOD, and related financial operations and reporting.

Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.

Ability to analyze problems, interpret findings, and adapt accounting/auditing methods to resolve issues.

1–2 years of experience preferred.
