The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time

Financial Management Specialist (GS-0501-7T12)

to work at Joint Base San Antonio‑Randolph.

Responsibilities

Serve as a remediation specialist in the AFAA, providing assistance and guidance concerning financial statement and process deficiencies.

Interface and work with personnel to conduct root cause analyses, develop remediation plans, and implement corrective actions for internal and external accounting, audit, and budget deficiencies.

Qualifications

U.S. citizenship is required.

Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance.

Responsible for safeguarding sensitive information and files.

Compliance with the Financial Management Level 2 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act.

Knowledge of US GAAP, FASAB, AICPA, NIST, Comptroller General, OMB, GAO, DOD Financial Management Regulation (FMR) principles, concepts, practices and trends for accounting, auditing, risk management, budget operations, and project management.

Knowledge of financial system and control related public law and guidance such as the Federal Managers Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA), Federal Financial Management Improvement Act (FEMIA), Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Act, and Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA).

Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operations of AFAA, DOD, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence financial operations and reporting.

Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.

Ability to analyze problems, interpret findings, and develop and modify accounting and auditing methods and techniques to resolve a variety of issues.

1–2 years’ experience requested.
