A member will serve as remediation specialist in the AFAA, providing assistance and guidance concerning financial statement and process deficiencies. The member interfaces and works with personnel to conduct root cause analyses, develop remediation plans, and implement corrective actions for internal and external accounting, audit, and budget deficiencies.

Salary: $52,339 - $120,696. 25% Travel. No remote or telework authorized. Permanent position.

Qualifications

U.S. citizenship is required.

Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance.

Responsible for safeguarding sensitive information and files.

This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act. The member will comply with the requirements of this certification program.

Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), professional accounting organizations, NIST, Comptroller General, OMB, GAO, and DOD Financial Management Regulation (FMR) principles, concepts, practices and trends for accounting, auditing, risk management, budget operations, and project management.

Knowledge of financial system and control related public law and guidance such as the Federal Managers Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA), Federal Financial Management Improvement Act (FEMIA), Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Act, and Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA).

Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operations of AFAA, DOD, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence financial operations and reporting.

Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.

Ability to analyze problems, interpret findings, and develop and modify accounting and auditing methods and techniques to resolve a variety of issues.

1-2 years’ experience requested.
