This position has a typical 2026 salary range of $76,463- $118,204 (without locality).
Qualifications / Requirements The primary purpose of this position is to execute policies, programs, and procedures for assigned segments. Assist with execution of all processes, procedures, and activities necessary to ensure Air Force maintains appropriate long-term oversight and control of military housing privatization initiative projects.
Position Responsibilities / Requirements
Implements Air Force-wide policies, programs, and procedures for assigned segments of AF housing programs.
Provides authoritative technical assistance to Air Staff and Major Commands on assigned segments of the privatized housing program.
Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of the assigned segments of the housing program in meeting legal and regulatory requirements and the needs of the members assigned housing.
U.S. Citizenship is required
Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov
Selectee is expected to be granted with and/or maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the position
Relocation costs or other incentives may be available and considered by the organization
May be required to work overtime as required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
May occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
Recruitment Knowledges, Skills, And Abilities (ksa)
Knowledge of Federal, DoD, and Air Force laws, regulations, principles, policies and practices of housing programs.
Knowledge of appropriate funds, programming processes and procedures.
Skill in analyzing and interpreting a wide variety of issues and formulating policy or procedural solutions to problems.
Skill in conducting regular or periodic reviews of subordinate organization housing programs and evaluating results to assess accomplishment of Command or HQ USAF program requirements.

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 (or higher) grade level or equivalent pay systems (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or public sector). Experience includes knowledge of laws, regulations, principles, policies and practices of housing programs; knowledge of funds programming processes and procedures; skill in analyzing and interpreting a wide variety of issues and formulating policy or procedural solutions to problems; and skill in conducting regular or periodic reviews of subordinate organization housing programs and evaluating results to assess accomplishment of program requirements.
Federal Time-In-Grade (TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the NH-02 (GS-12) level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the NH-03 (GS-13) level. Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor’s degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. -OR- Combination of Education and Experience: College-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
