
Senior Designer -Interior Architecture

HBA New York is seeking Senior Designers – Interior Architecture to focus on high‑end, five‑star hospitality and residential interiors. You will join a diverse and highly creative design team dedicated to expressing their immense talent in design and interior architecture.
Responsibilities
Design innovative architectural concepts and solutions in direct response to unique user, programmatic, environmental and cultural contexts through the integration of leading‑edge planning, interiors and other required systems. Define and develop functional and spatial requirements of new structures or renovations, and prepare information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs and construction time. Responsible for the coordination of the project design and project team. Prepare and review design documents, construction documents, shop drawings, and materials for compliance with design intent, program requirements and technical requirements. Develop design drawings, such as plans, sections, elevations, details and models using hand drawings as well as advanced CAD and 3D software. Solve complex problems in connection with the architectural design of projects through the integration of building simulation and research to optimize building performance. Confer with clients, consultants, contractors, and others during various stages of project development. Desired Skills and Experience
Completion of a professional interior design and/or architectural degree program. 8–10 or more years of experience and progressive responsibilities in all phases of architecture and substantial experience on projects in the US and abroad. Specific experience and expertise in global benchmark projects in the commercial, hospitality, transportation and/or cultural sectors. High level skills and experience in conceptual design phases and instigation of projects including high quality design research, sketching, illustration and rendering abilities. Preferred expertise in advanced 3D software and programming including Revit, 3DS Max, Rhino 3D, Vray, Mental Ray, SketchUp, Adobe Suite and After Effects to visualize, manipulate and compile complex geometries. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of architectural design, detailing, building materials, building codes, construction techniques and costs. Demonstrate practical knowledge of general architectural practices. Strong entrepreneurial spirit with exceptional communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work well under pressure, juggle and prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly, often against tight deadlines. Possess strong verbal, written and visual communication skills with all levels of employees, management and outside parties. Demonstrate creative abilities and applied problem‑solving skills. Strong abilities to work in a team setting and achieve results through collaboration and sharing. Proven ability to self‑manage and demonstrate high level of professional maturity. Must be quality minded and self‑motivated. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
