
Business Development Manager, Capital Markets

We’re thrilled to exclusively partner with an elite global Am Law top 20 law firm in its search for a Business Development Manager to support the firm’s elite Capital Markets practice, which happens to be one of the firm's flagship groups.
Please note this position can be elevated to the Senior Manager level for the right legal BD profile.
I’d love to speak with highly organized and self‑motivated Business Development professionals from within the legal space and/or the wider professional services. Subject‑matter knowledge of Capital Markets is essential. The firm is open to Senior Specialists stepping up into their first managerial role, or a current Manager looking to make a lateral shift.
Key responsibilities include:
Build strong knowledge of the Capital Markets practice, offerings, attorneys, clients, and BD/marketing priorities; partner with attorneys and BD teams to develop and execute strategic initiatives.
Use industry databases and news sources (e.g., S&P Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Pitchbook, EDGAR) to track market trends, competitors, and client activity, and identify opportunities for targeted attorney engagement.
Manage league table submissions and relationships, track deals across firm and Capital Markets systems, and produce tombstones and deal lists by practice area, geography, and industry.
Work with external organizations, publications, and the PR team to secure speaking roles, placements, sponsorships, webinars, and other visibility opportunities for attorneys.
Develop and manage pitches, proposals, and tailored marketing materials; maintain print/digital content, practice pages, and attorney bios to reflect current strengths and achievements.
Draft and manage submissions for legal directories, awards, and industry guides (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500, IFLR1000).
