Product Manager, Emerging Markets & Partnerships
to join the
Electrical Wiring Systems
( Wiremold ) Team in
West Hartford, CT . Responsible for development of comprehensive, customer‑centric product and/or channel strategy for new and developing markets. Creating product development roadmap, go‑to‑market strategy, operational execution plan & long‑term strategic mapping that drive incremental growth. Overseeing industry partnerships and University collaborations that expand our vision, innovation and improve our speed to market. Initial scope is the Data Center Market.
What Will You Do? Research
Track emerging trends related to growth opportunities, technology advancement, channel development and investment opportunities
Lead the 5‑year vision for designated product line, ensuring sustainable growth, market share and profitability
Keep an eye on the market: monitor Salesforce opportunities, attend trade events, competitive benchmarking, initiate & conduct research into long‑term trends & customer needs
Identify and perform due diligence on M&A potential targets that fuel long‑term strategy
Regular field visits, customer interaction (distributors, contractors, subs, specifiers, end‑users) & in‑depth knowledge of competitive landscape
Educate the product, marketing and sales teams on new stakeholders/personas
Product Management
Build, maintain and prioritize a product roadmap—defining product requirements, market sizing, business impact (revenue and investment costs)
Ability to translate ideas and projects into comprehensive Requirements Documents to see new ideas through discovery and into development with a defined scope—including addressable market, pricing strategy, initial forecasting, market positioning
Understanding of existing operational processes and constraints to consider
Oversee the development of the go‑to‑market/marketing materials for launches aligned to new markets (Data Centers)
Develop and deliver training for the sales team
Collaborate & partner with Sr. Product Managers
To monitor & review product line performance and identify trends and opportunities aligned to new markets (Data Centers)
To define products requirements and develop kickoff materials in order to roll projects from discovery to development successfully
Partnerships
Identify partnerships within industry, supply chain and stakeholder communities that fuel continued education, speed to market and access to adjacencies
Primary relationship and project management of discovery efforts with outside partners (research, voice of customer, ID, etc.)
Company liaison to strategic Universities to further concepting, research, etc.
Leadership
Representation of the brand in regular presentations to executive leadership, sales conferences and customer interactions
Champion market strategy throughout the organization and at customer‑facing events where possible
Performs other similar and related duties as required.
Required Skills
BS in Marketing, Business or related is required
Minimum 5 years experience in marketing or related field
1‑2 years with explicit product management experience
Minimum of 1 year direct exposure to the data center industry/ecosystem
Solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business, understanding of industries/channels/markets
Explicit experience with voice of customer—collecting and making actionable
Proven success in a highly collaborative and cross‑functional environment
Strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities
Excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work.
Advanced Excel skills—pivot tables, data analysis
Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e‑mail and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web‑based resources efficiently and effectively.
Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus, extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.
