Overview The Senior Performance Improvement Specialist is responsible for leading, coordinating, and executing quality, process, and performance improvement projects across the organization. Core focus areas include driving performance in the Managed Care Incentive Payment (MCIP) Program, LCMC Health Strategic Plan initiatives, and System Service Line Quality. Leveraging Lean Six Sigma methodologies, the Specialist identifies process defects, analyzes operational and clinical data, and facilitates the development of actionable solutions that drive measurable and sustainable results. The role collaborates with leaders, physicians, and frontline staff to ensure improvement efforts are aligned with strategic priorities. Responsibilities

Participate in and coordinate comprehensive data collection for compliance with national, state, regional, and internal clinical quality measures.

Assist in identifying clinical quality improvement opportunities based on evidence‑based clinical practices and statistical analysis of current practice patterns.

Contribute to clinical quality measures data collection, aggregation, and dissemination.

Contribute to short‑term and long‑term clinical quality measures process improvement projects to continuously improve the clinical quality measuring, monitoring, and compliance program.

Develop and implement a plan for essential data collection, through analysis and effective data manipulation.

Work with process improvement sponsors for improvement strategies.

Educate staff and physicians to provide evidence‑based care and improve clinical outcomes.

Educate and mentor PI specialists in data‑driven process improvement.

Participate in validating accurate clinical quality measures through systematic interrater reliability processes.

Coach clinic or hospital process improvement project teams.

Share best practices to allow for system‑wide learning.

Collaborate with quality and patient safety programs to share knowledge leading to better outcomes.

Facilitate demonstrated improvements for system‑wide adoption.

Experience Qualifications

Two (2) years of project management or experience leading multidisciplinary teams is required.

Two (2) years of management experience as a charge nurse or program manager is preferred.

Education Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.

MSN or other healthcare‑related master’s degree is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is required.

Current State of Louisiana RN license to practice professional nursing.

Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality is required within 12 months of hire.

Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) from the Project Management Institute is preferred.

Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Black Belt is preferred.

Skills And Abilities

Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with continuous improvement methodologies and tools (LSS, PDCA, QA/QC tools, SPC, RCA, CAPA, statistical testing, MSA, time studies).

Prefer knowledge of project management processes/methodologies and be able to develop, lead, and manage multiple projects utilizing a project management framework.

Must have strong presentation and computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio).

Self‑motivated with proven communication skills.

Strong team facilitation skills including building trust and open communication regarding project issues and results.

Demonstrated effective working relationships with physicians and leadership.

Ability to work collaboratively with health care professionals at all levels to achieve established goals and improve quality outcomes.
