This is a hybrid position that requires working from our Downtown Seattle Office two days per week (Mondays and Thursdays). Candidates must be based in the Greater Seattle Area or willing to relocate. The Role As a Sr. Marketing Manager, you are the definitive architect of Rover’s consideration engine. You own the strategic deployment of Rover’s identity across upper-funnel channels (Linear TV, OTT/CTV, Audio, Podcast, OOH, Programmatic, etc.) to drive measurable business impact and growth. You operate independently and will lead two key initiatives: stewarding a massive media investment with advanced measurement (MMM/Geo-Uplift) and pioneering the future of marketing operations. This role offers high influence with autonomy and AI-enabled, data-validated decision making. Responsibilities 1. Consideration Strategy & Business Influence Strategic Direction: Autonomously drive the long-range strategy for upper funnel channels, drive new customers, and define goals and OKRs for winning in the upper funnel. Planning Leadership: Influence annual planning with deep expertise in media best practices and industry shifts. Cross-Functional Bridge: Collaborate with the Brand team to align upper funnel strategy and provide performance data feedback. 2. Mastery of Upper Funnel Media Advanced Channel Stewardship: Expertise in Linear TV, OTT/CTV, Audio, OOH, and Programmatic channels; skilled in media buying, negotiations, inventory quality, and placement strategy. Complex Agency Orchestration: Manage high-complexity agency relationships, coaching them to meet performance standards. Financial Stewardship: Manage large-scale program budgets with accuracy and attention to detail. 3. Measurement Science & Data Optimization Marketing Measurement Ownership: Collaborate with Marketing Data Science to develop metrics and measurement frameworks; own interpretation and application of MMM and Geo-Uplift tests. Problem Solving: Tackle highly complex issues such as signal loss in CTV or multi-channel attribution in a privacy-first environment. 4. Automation & AI Integration Workflow Automation: Identify and execute process efficiencies by automating marketing workflows and integrating AI tools into the department. Tool Architecture: Understand AI tools and architect scenarios to solve complex business problems. 5. Communication & Mentorship Organizational Communicator: Effectively share key information and distill complex media and AI concepts for executives. Knowledge Dissemination: Establish rhythms to share findings and improve prioritization and efficiency across the marketing team. Qualifications Experience: 10-12+ years in high-scale media strategy with a consumer brand (ideally a two-sided marketplace); proven ability to leverage upper funnel channels to drive new customers and measure impact. AI/Automation Mastery: Demonstrated improvements to workflow automation using scripts, Python, SaaS tools, and AI. Ability to be the team’s AI expert and expand capabilities; experience building or implementing AI-driven systems is a plus. Measurement Fluency: Hands-on experience with Geo-Uplift testing and MMM results actioning. Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in a quantitative or business field is a plus; work experience may be considered. Location: Ability to work from the Seattle office 2 days per week. Holding Agencies Accountable: Experience managing and holding agencies accountable for results and managing an RFP process. International Experience: Experience managing campaigns in the US and international markets (UK and EU a plus). Collaboration: Ability to work with internal Brand teams and Marketing Data Science; communicate across creative and data stakeholders. A Sense of Curiosity: Eagerness to learn and challenge oneself with new ideas. Rover offers a long-term incentive plan with performance-based pay and full-time benefits. The cash compensation offered will depend on experience, qualifications, skills, and interview performance.
