Product Lead The Product Lead reflects the mission, vision and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and regulatory standards.
Information Services Role Northwestern Medicine Information Services drives innovative, high‑value solutions to transform health care and supports the organization by leveraging AI, automation, advanced cyber controls, and implementing advanced technologies across clinical and administrative areas. Our team ensures that our systems work together seamlessly and further develops the end‑user support model to enhance modern infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a clear product vision and roadmap aligned with overall business strategy.
Define and prioritize product features and requirements based on stakeholder input.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—application analysts, architects, developers, analytics—to ensure successful product development and delivery.
Create and maintain a product backlog, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritization.
Monitor and analyze healthcare trends, products, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product enhancements.
Participate in agile development processes such as sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives.
Communicate and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that the most valuable features to NM are delivered first.
Ensure the product meets quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with Information Service teams to ensure timely delivery and resource allocation.
Continuously evaluate and optimize the product based on user feedback and business goals.
Act as a point of contact for product‑related queries and provide guidance to stakeholders on using the information systems effectively.
Qualifications Required:
5 years’ experience as a product owner or a similar role in Information Technology.
Scrum Product Owner certification, or obtain certification within six months of hire date.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of information systems, data management, and software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum).
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills to understand complex business requirements and translate them into actionable user stories.
Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
Understanding of user experience research and design principles for user‑friendly systems.
Familiarity with project management tools and software development lifecycles.
