
Instructional Designer

Job Summary
As an Instructional Designer, you’ll partner with business leaders, subject matter experts, and L&D team members to identify learning needs and deliver innovative solutions. You’ll own the end‑to‑end instructional design process from initial scoping to content development to delivery, creating blended learning experiences that drive measurable outcomes.
Essential Functions
Consult with internal stakeholders to conduct learning needs assessments and define performance objectives.
Design and develop engaging, scalable learning programs (e.g., instructor‑led, virtual, eLearning, microlearning, performance support).
Apply adult learning theory, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), and UX principles to create learner‑centered solutions.
Develop course materials, including storyboards, facilitator guides, participant materials, and assessments.
Leverage authoring tools (Articulate 360, Rise, Adobe Suite, etc.) to build interactive eLearning modules.
Collaborate with LMS administrators to publish, track, and optimize learning content.
Use data to evaluate learning effectiveness and iterate based on learner and stakeholder feedback.
Balance multiple priorities and deadlines in a high‑growth, agile environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Technology, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.
5+ years of instructional design experience, preferably in a corporate or fast‑paced environment.
Demonstrated expertise with Articulate 360 (Rise, Storyline), Adobe Creative Cloud, and other eLearning tools.
Portfolio or sample work required to showcase design capabilities and content development expertise.
Proven ability to flex and pivot to manage multiple projects from discovery through delivery.
Experience developing impactful, employee‑focused onboarding and new hire learning experiences.
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills across diverse content formats.
In‑depth knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.
Experience designing enterprise‑level onboarding and learning strategies for distributed or multi‑site workforces.
Proficiency with LMS platforms, learning analytics, and SCORM standards.
Proficiency in eLearning development tools and media editing software.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Preferred
Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Technology, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.
Experience designing for technical, field‑based, or sales teams.
Familiarity with agile project management methodologies.
Experience with video‑based learning and scenario‑driven simulations.
Strong graphic and/or visual design skills.
Strong business acumen and understanding of how learning drives organizational outcomes.
Physical, Field, or Environmental Requirements The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
