
Senior Interior Designer

DAG Architects is seeking a full-time Senior Interior Designer to lead interior design projects from concept through completion, overseeing design development, client coordination, and project delivery. This role involves making key design decisions, managing budgets and timelines, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring design quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Duties/Responsibilities
Manage projects from initial client meetings to final walkthroughs, translating needs into designs.
Collaborate on multiple projects concurrently, including programming, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
Prepare accurate contract documents such as floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, millwork drawings, furniture layouts, finish plans, and schedules.
Research manufacturers and assist in the selection of colors, finishes, materials, furniture, and lighting, with a focus on sustainable solutions.
Create presentation materials, diagrams, and physical and mostly digital models for client presentations.
Support project teams and studio initiatives, collaborating with consultants and partners as required.
Mentor and supervise junior designers.
Required Skills/Abilities
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Exposure to sustainable design practices and materials.
Experience working on small to mid-size commercial projects including education, hospitality, multi-family, healthcare and more.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in interior design or related field from a CIDA accredited program.
8-10 years of professional experience (internship experience acceptable).
Must have NCIDQ certification.
Professional experience and proficiency in senior design software (SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD, Lumion, Enscape, Adobe Suite).
Strong knowledge of construction documentation and detailing.
Knowledge of FF&E, materials, and finish specifications.
Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
