Summary Of Position The SEO Specialist will drive SEO efforts for the company, including onsite and off‑site optimization, keyword expansion research, and content optimization and integration. This role will support our brands PetSafe, SportDOG, and Kurgo by conducting deep dives into priority growth products and categories to uncover opportunities that maximize organic search performance. This role partners closely across the organization with Digital Marketing, Digital Content Writers, Brand Marketing, Creative Services, Social Media, and PPC teams.
Responsibilities
Drive SEO initiatives based on measurable business impact
Leverage AI responsibly in SEO by:
Using AI tools to enhance content production and technical workflows
Adapting SEO strategies to account for AI‑powered search features and evolving SERP behaviour
Educate cross‑functional teams on SEO opportunities and best practices
Conduct keyword research to inform content strategy and guide content teams
Identify, review, and recommend solutions for technical SEO issues, including:
Hreflang implementation
Canonical URLs
XML sitemaps
Robots.txt
301 redirects
Schema markup
Internal and external linking strategies
International CMS architectures and country/language URL structures
Title tag and metadata optimization
Provide recommendations to optimize website content, landing pages, and paid search copy
Lead off‑page optimization initiatives, including link‑building strategies
Collect, analyse, and report on SEO performance metrics, including traffic and search rankings
Collaborate with Social Media and PPC teams to maximize campaign performance
Partner with digital content teams and writers to optimize content quality and discoverability
Stay current on search engine trends, algorithm updates, ranking changes, and measurement tools
Use analytics platforms such as BrightEdge, Conductor, Moz, Screaming Frog, and similar tools to track performance, test improvements, and continuously optimize SEO outcomes
Qualifications
5+ years of experience delivering SEO value within an organization, agency, or client environment
Proven track record of SEO success demonstrated through reporting and campaign results
Strong knowledge of Google Analytics and other SEO and performance reporting platforms
Solid understanding of both Digital and Traditional Marketing practices
Experience working cross‑functionally to develop and execute integrated SEO strategies
Strong presentation skills with the ability to influence and educate stakeholders
Excellent collaboration, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
Effective time management, prioritization, and organizational capabilities
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance and training materials
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
