Senior Content Strategist – Accenture Federal Services
As a Senior Content Strategist at Accenture Federal Services, you will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive content strategy for a federal client’s website. You will collaborate with writers, product designers, researchers, product managers and engineers to create an audience‑focused content roadmap that guides users smoothly through digital products while aligning with mission goals, policy standards, and user needs.
Responsibilities
Conduct a comprehensive audit and analysis of the content and experience of existing federal products, focusing on their architecture, structure, content, and taxonomy.
Identify areas for improvement and create a detailed plan for refreshing digital products, ensuring they align with both user needs and organizational objectives.
Gather requirements, facilitate client discussions, and conduct content reviews to drive the success of programmatic improvements.
Leverage expertise in SEO, GEO, AEO, and user experience to inform strategy and recommendations. Support user testing efforts and use insights gained to validate proposed changes and enhance the overall user journey.
Collaborate closely with interaction and service designers, providing guidance on content strategy while supporting the implementation of visual and structural updates.
Apply familiarity with website maintenance and governance principles, as well as experience in defining long‑term strategies for content management, to ensure ongoing success and sustainability of the site.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, digital marketing, communications, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience as a content strategist or content marketer.
5+ years of experience crafting content for digital products or services in consulting, in‑house, or agency environments.
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a focus on creating topical authority.
Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and SEO (site structure, schema markup) combined with knowledge of how AI models retrieve information.
Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and best practices.
Ability to communicate design intent and trade‑offs clearly to diverse stakeholders, including non‑design audiences.
Bonus Skills
Experience working with federal agencies or on public‑sector digital services.
Prior experience in client‑facing or consulting roles within regulated environments.
Prior experience in GEO, AEO and AI‑strategy to structure information for both human readability and machine readability.
Strong foundation in human‑centered design principles for browser‑based, native application, and platform experiences.
Experience writing for complex, high‑traffic platforms serving diverse audiences.
Exposure to service design, journey mapping, or omni‑channel government services.
Experience supporting data‑informed design using analytics or Voice of the Customer tools.
Relevant Master’s Degree.
Benefits & Compensation The base pay range for this position, based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Washington, Vermont, the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland, is $95,200—$204,400 USD.
