Part-Time Hospitality and Retail Representative
The Kenwood Vineyards Hospitality and Retail team is seeking an enthusiastic and service-driven Part-Time Hospitality and Retail Representative to deliver exceptional guest experiences in the tasting room. This role reports to the Hospitality and Retail Manager and plays a key role in creating memorable visits, driving wine and retail sales, and promoting Wine Club memberships. The position requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and some holidays. Prior hospitality or wine industry experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Provide exceptional and engaging guest experiences, ensuring each visitor leaves with a positive impression of Kenwood Vineyards
Educate guests on winery history, wines, and winemaking techniques in a knowledgeable and approachable manner
Pour and present wines while creating a welcoming and memorable tasting experience
Build relationships with guests to encourage repeat visits and future sales
Promote and sell wine, retail merchandise, and Wine Club memberships
Operate POS systems, process transactions, and handle cash and daily sales reconciliation
Assist with setting up and executing special events, VIP tastings, and winery experiences
Prepare and maintain the tasting room, including menus, glassware, and marketing materials
Perform bar support duties such as opening wine, polishing glassware, and restocking supplies
Answer phones and emails as needed and assist with guest inquiriesStay current on winery offerings, the wine industry, and local points of interest to enhance guest recommendations
Support opening and closing procedures, ensuring the tasting room is properly set up and secured
Collaborate with team members and assist with additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
Strong customer service skills with a friendly, positive, and professional demeanor
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Passion for wine and eagerness to learn and share knowledge with guests
Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Team-oriented with a collaborative attitudeFlexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and some holidays
Bilingual skills are a plus but not required
Must be at least 21 years of age
Education & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) certification required
Food Handler’s Certification required
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including uneven surfaces and stairs
Repetitive use of hands and wrists for opening and pouring wine
Ability to lift 40-50 lbs. on a repetitive basis
